Group rules, standards and the boring bits that keep us civil:

  • All parents/ caregivers must stay on site while their youth are on session. NorWest Life Learners Group is not a childcare service and you are responsible for your youth when they attend sessions.

  • Respect the venue: Look after equipment and the venue, pick up rubbish and report any problems to Candace. We want to grow a good relationship our awesome venue of trust and cooperation.

  • Respect the facilitators: The generally accepted norms apply here. Our facilitators are volunteers and deserve our deepest appreciation for their time and support. Some are professionals, some are parents, and some are older teens from the group. Disrespectful or dangerous language and behaviour can result in removal from our workshops.

  • Respect each other: The generally accepted norms apply here also.
Be kind, be courteous and try to work out problems in an amicable manner. If a child has any troubles with behaving in an appropriate manner it is important to stay with them to assist, please.
If concerns are above your ability to sort out please talk to the coordinator Candace.

  • We aspire to be a screen free group: The groups philosophy is to have a heavy focus on being technology free and engaging with each others while on session.
Any youth attending our group must not bring screens onto session please - leaving them in the car is best. Adults we ask if you can please keep your cell phones away unless it is important.

  • Photography by the group and how the groups photos are used: The Group will take photos via a digital camera of activities so that you can enjoy your time and be in the moment. The group does not share or publish photos with faces.

Photos take during session can be used for promotional purposes or in attempts to gather donations for the groups, support, materials for activities and use on the Life Learners Facebook Group Page/ website.
Non of these photos will show faces of youth and will be mostly focused on back shots, distance shots or close ups of activities.

If you are opposed to your youth being in these photos or wish to gain access to the group google drive please let us know on.

You are welcome to take photos of your own youth. We ask though that you do not share or publicly show photos of other children without asking the permission of the parents.

  • Access photos taken on session: Photos are taken during session for the parents to look at on the groups google drive. Once you have attended a session you can request access to the google drive folder which is where you can find all the photos of each session.
Please email norwestlifelearners@gmail.com to gain access.

  • Inclusivity: Everyone has different opinions, beliefs and walks of life. Discrimination and trying to force someone to believe something you do of any view has no place in this group. This group's philosophy will be respecting everyone on an individual level. Views and opinions should always be shared and learned from as long as we are respecting each other. Bullying is not tolerated.

  • These guidelines can change at the discretion of the group coordinator.
